Charlene Abdul and her family were faced with the most painful, unimaginable, earth-shattering news.
Her son, her first love, Tyler Ray Abdul, took his own life at the age of 15. With no signs of mental health struggles, this tragedy has driven Charlene and her family to engage with youth, understand the gaps, and work diligently to prevent another family from experiencing such heartbreak.
They have taken their pain and turned it into purpose: to prevent youth suicide.
Tyler Abdul Foundation for the Prevention of Suicide (TyFo) exists to prevent youth suicide by empowering young people, their families and communities with education, support, hope and resilience. While creating a world where young people thrive with good mental health and reach their full potential.
